Properties

This article explains how to add Properties to your Seen Platform Workspace.

What are Properties

Properties are the data fields you can use in the Seen Platform to personalise your videos. You will need to create Properties beforehand in case you are sending in data to Seen Platform via the API.

Creating Properties is also possible during the import process, if you are working with manual CSV files instead of the API.

How to create Properties

In order to create new Properties, navigate to Settings ⇒ Properties from the main menu.

In the Manage properties menu you'll be able to see your existing properties. To add a new property, click on Create new property.

Give your new Property a name, choose if the data is supposed to be a Text or a Number value, and click Save.

Property names can be up to 32 characters long.

You'll now see your newly created Property in your Manage properties menu, and can start populating it both with the API and import, and use it in segmentation.

Using Properties in a Project

Creating a Property adds it to your Workspace, not to a single Project. Each Project then selects which Properties it actually uses, for example by adding them in Studio's Personalisation panel (see Creating a video), and populates their values for each recipient via the API or CSV import.
