This is part of the legacy Platform documentation.

This legacy article explains how to import data to the Seen Platform.

Navigate to Data ⇒ Import in the main menu to access imports.

You will arrive at the Import Menu with 4 Steps:

1. Upload CSV

In the Upload CSV step you will be able to upload a new CSV file to the platform, as well as to view your past imports.

Under the Import Data section, either drag and drop a CSV file to the container, or click the container to upload a file from your computer.

2. Map Fields

In the Map Fields step you will be able to map the columns from your CSV file to the correct Properties in Seen Platform. You can either use previously created Properties for mapping, or create the needed Properties through the dropdown menus on this step.

See the Properties page for more information about creating Properties beforehand.

Property and column names do not need to match in order to be mapped, but they will be mapped automatically in case they match.

After you have mapped the fields, click Import to advance to the next step.

3. Processing

In the Processing step Seen Platform processes your file and informs you when the import has been processed.

4. Review

In the Review step you will be able to review the imported data.

Your data is now usable for personalisation in the Seen Platform.

Data file best practices

This outlines recommended best practices for cleaning, exporting and testing your data into Seen Platform.

1. Cleaning your data

Cleaning your data before importing significantly reduces unwanted videos generated in the platform.

Text and formatting clean-up

• Remove leading and trailing spaces in all cells
• Remove unwanted spaces inside cells: Ole-Christian and not Ole- Christian
• Remove unwanted characters: !@#$%^&*(),.?":{}|<>[ ]\;'~_1234567890`
• Consistent casing: Daniel and not DaNIeL
• Unified formatting for numbers: e.g. all values 100 000 or 100000 or 100,000

2. Use a Unique Identifier

Each data point should include a unique identifier to make the import to your CRM-system as easy as possible.

3. File type and format

• CSV
• UTF-8 with comma Delimited
• One header row

4. Test with a small list first

1. Create a small sample file (10–50 rows). This can include the shortest and longest data field (Example: Bob & Victoria-Helene) to test all videos will work as intended.
2. Import data, generate and check your small list.
